Guernsey In Bloom 2011

Congratulations to Herm Island who will go on to represent the Bailiwick in the 2012 Britain in Bloom competition.

Herm was a double winner at last night’s Floral Guernsey community competition awards.

The island took home the overall prize for community and the award for best local environment with one of 3 Gold awards made this year.

Britain in Bloom judge John Woodward commended every one of the seven parishes which took part, saying judges had seen an ‘overall raising of standards’. But he recognised that working to beautify the island was not without its difficulties
